Warped Tour with Pepper

The in 19 hour day we had yesterday 8 of the hours were in a car. I drive like an old lady which doesn't help. Anyways yesterday I was at the Vans Warped Tour in Ventura, CA. I had a blast shooting all the different band and what not. I was able to hang out with Pepper (pepperlive.com) The Coach threw me up on stage for a while during their set and I got some great images. Here one more to come soon. I'm off to the Shoreline Warp Tour for day two!

Mendocino CA

Today I went up to Mendocino with Missy, Dre, and Dede. I’ve been there once with my friend Mallory but I didn’t bring my camera. We walked around down town, and had lunch at a sandwich shop. They had a lot of stores that would be classified as “Mom” or “Girl” stores. There were a lot of galleries that I enjoyed. I had a fun time taking photos of the town while they shopped. Afterwards we drove along the coast and snapped a few photos. Anyways were back in Ukiah here’s a few photo.

I woke up today and checked my e-mail and received great news that I'll be having two of my images published in Seattle Sound Magazine in the June issue. I had the best time today shooting Mark and Shameka wedding at the Four Seasons in southern California. Here’s a image of Shameka with her older brother Dr. Dre (owner/founder of Aftermath Entertainment)moments before he walked her down the eisle. Ratdog in Ventura, CA

Last Saturday Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead brought his band Ratdog to the Ventura Theater. It was so much fun to photograph someone that I've been listening to since I was a kid. I was invited to come early and shoot the sound check.

I meet a ton of great people. I even ran in Fast Ed and he had so many storys. Ed has been toured with the Dead since the start and didn't miss a show from 85-95. Anyways here's a few images...

Jupiter Images

Yesterday was awsome! I went down to Hollywood and was the second assistant on Jerry Tobias shoot for Jupiter Images.
There were two couple that modeled inside this old house built in the early 1930's in Hollywood. We were down there by 7AM and the day flew by. After the shoot a few of us headed over to a Mexican spot on Sunset. I had a great time and it was awsome to meet new people.

PA Talk...

Tonight again was a big night for compasion kids. The crew signed up a ton of childern. This is a such an amzing group of people. Craig and J.R. are really out there changing peoples lives and motiving them to get out there and do something! It's not only Craig and J.R. it's everyone that's is part of the tour. David the the driver has a system down, and is awsome at what he does. He make sure that everything get off the R.V. and set up in time for the events. After the talks he's running around signing people up answering qustions. Then packs it all up and fit all the junk back in the R.V.. Gets in the drivers sit and drives to the next city. While all that is going around there is Cilton whos is making the movie. This guy is going to need a months worth of sleep after the tour. He runs around with a huge camera all day. Then when everyone is sleeping he's backing up all the footage and then running is design company. Today I think he went on like 2 or 3 hours of sleep. Once again this group is out there making a difference in the world! Amzing! Check out the click from tonight.

Pittsburgh PA

We checked in the hotel, and are resting before tonights talk. Dave The Driver drove from Canton to Pittsburgh today. Then met up with Mike from a local church. From there we were off to help a organization that helps young women with un planed pregnancys. There J.R. and Craig sorted clothes for the kids. The next stop was the hospital and there the crew served lunch to the familys that were at the ICU waiting rooms. Then we headed down town Pittsburg were Craig and J.R. Chained themself to the pew on a street corner. We meet a guy who owns hot dog stands all over the city. Gave us lunch which was awsome! A few Pittsburgh news paper reporters and photographers came out and are did a store on them! Check back later tonight for more images. What's round on the outside and high in the middle Ohio baby. We're sitting around the hotel lobby at midnight chattin' it up with the whole crew. It was great to see everyone to night. Rob from www.gratecreative.com brought his fam down to Canton! We got some great images. Tonight the Starving Jesus guys reached there goal of signing up 500 compasion kids! The Format

WOW last night was the start of a crazy break!!! Nick 1 & 2, Christina, Missy, and my self went down to L.A. and checked out the Format. We had a blast! But what's up with the nine dollar drinks? Anyways I'm sitting at L.A. with my Dad getting ready to jump on a plan back to Cleveland for two days to vist Mom. Then I'll be catching up with the Starving Jesus tour again. I had so much fun last week-end with Starving Jesus guys. I'm hoping back on tour with them for a whole week in Sept. Here's the dates if you live in one of the stop come on by! Saturday a group of us when down to Henry's beach in Santa Barbara and tried replicate an American Eagle add. Here's a few images. Matt did a great job running around with the strobes. Fridays Wedding....

Sacramento!

Today Craig & J.R. spoke today at Arcade church in Sacramento. We picked up Dave The Horn ( (davethehornguy.com) @ Blain Hogan ( www.sendblainetomars.com ) from Fox's Prison Break on the way up here! Both have awesome stories so check them out! Blain had this awesome tin foil out fit on. It was the first talk of the tour and it went great!

At the end of the day the crew had signed up 62 compassion kids. Which helps the reach their goals of 500 kids by the end of the 40 days. You can sponsor a kid by going to www.compassion.com.

There has been so many positive things going on from everyone on the tour so far! I mean everyone is helping. I was snapping some photos and talking to J.R and I watched a little girl no older than 8 run up to J.R. and give him a balled up 100 bill. She said to J.R. "where can I give to the other kids". This was amazing to see her & parents help out.

Right before the second service started the Local NBC and Fox affiliates showed up and interviewed Craig & J.R. Also the way down to the L.A. area J.R. was on a radio show in Baltimore MD. T

When we reached L.A. my good friend Missy came drove all the way from Santa Barbara to come pick me. She met all the guys and we sat around a chatted for a bit. I was bummed to leave but I'm going to try to make it out on my break for the last leg of the tour!

Oakland!!

I'm sitting in Oakland, CA with Craig Gross & J.R. Manoh from Triple X church. Dave from Grand Rapids MI, and Dave Vahey is shooting the whole tour for a movie.

The day started with Kim from Mission year. She helps just about anyone in the Oakland area. The group bagged up 135 bags and handed them out in a Asian neighborhood downtown. The dude that was translating for us was Miller he grew up in China and now is living in Oakland.

The next stop Kim took us to was a coroner store where we kicked it with Luke and Hendrick. It was a thrift store but it was easily the coolest thrift store I've ever stepped in to. The store was a the heart of the neighborhood for the kids. They pack in the store before and after school to buy candy for barely anything and hang out.

The next stop was the house where the women of Mission year lived. We were there just talk about how God has changed the way they look at life. It was amazing how this young girls live. They have gone a whole year with no T.V, or internet WOW.

The forth and finely stop till we off to Sac was the Golden Gate park. J.R. being the in shape 40 year old that he is brought a pew and carried it out for a few quick photos with Craig Gross and J.R. Mahon with the bridge in the back ground.

Bay area!

I'm just made it to the hotel in Oakland after a long day of traveling. We were delayed by two hours which was a bummer! Then it took for ever to get in to the bay. But when I saw the bay bridge it was a big relief and was totally worth it! I'm out here with the guys from triple X church documenting the Starving for Jesus tour! Tomorrow is the kick off for a 40 day tour for these guys. I'll be posting images all week-end so keep an eye out!

Moving Day for the Mahons!

Today was a little bitter sweet! We all had to say goodbye to the Mahons! JR and Diane are moving to Grand Rapids MI. Where JR is now running www.x3church.com. In between moving stuff around and trying to look bussy I was able to bring out the point and shoot digi. Here's a few photos on JR and the Supan kids. Check em' out!!!!

40 Days of Nothing

Today I was stoked when I was asked to travel for three days all over California to document the frist few days of "40 Days of Nothing Tour" Here's the 411 on the tour:

"On August 5, 2006, Craig and J.R. jump into an RV and head out on a 40-day, 40-city tour across the United States. The tour begins in Northern California and concludes 40 days later in New York City on September 13th. The tour is designed to help church communities effect change in their regions and cities and be a creative link for Christians to be inspired to act out their faith."

“Get out of the pews and into people’s lives,” says J.R.

Craig continues, “We have a responsibility when it comes to our communities, we must get up and out... serve in the name of Christ.”

"J.R. and Craig will stop at one church a day challenging, inspiring and helping people out of the pews and into the community. Every stop on the tour will be different but in every city, they will give people tangible ways to begin to do something in their community."

The tour will ask people to do three things: GIVE. FAST. PRAY

“Whether someone fasts for one day and one city of the tour, or the whole 40 days, it will be great to see someone turn nothing into something,” says Craig Gross
